MAN UNITED CAN FINALLY AFFORD TO DREAM IF THEY COME AWAY FROM ANFIELD UNSCATHED

Man United were last heralded as genuine title contenders in the summer of 2012, and ironically, that was the last time they were able to lay their hands on the holy grail of English football.

Ever since Sir Alex Ferguson departed the theatre of dreams seven years ago, the Manchester based club have seen a steady decline on a yearly basis with fan frustration been vented at the Glazer’s and Mr., Woodward.

David Moyes who was dubbed the ‘chosen one’ seven years ago barely spent nine months in the Manchester hot Seat before he was relieved of his misery with the Red Devil’s languishing in seventh position.

In came Louis Van Gal with his notoriously boring brand of attacking football. His two years stint at the dugout of Manchester yielded an FA cup truimph but he was unable to endear him self to supporters and was shown the exit door after failing to qualify for Europe’s premier competition.

The special one was tasked with restoring Man United to the penacle of English football but was subdued by the ruthless machine built in the blue half of Manchester by non other than Pep Guardiola. His presence at Carrington became toxic after some high profile dispute with big name players most notably Paul Pogba. The Portuguese tactician was soon relived of his duty and a former fan favorite Ole Gunnar Solskjear also known as baby face assassin was brought in to steady the ship alongside bringing some feel good factor back to the theatre of dreams.

But two years down the line, the former fan favorite have got the United supporters dreaming again after several months of inconsistency. He has quietly turned a corner albeit heavy criticism from some section of the supporters. The cult hero has also been able to indoctrinate the Man United tradition back into the players with glowing effect.

Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford have no doubt contributed immensely to the United course not forgetting the input of French star Paul Pogba despite his sometimes negative effect on the team.

Solskjear’s side are heading to anfield with gusto, believing a victory will further strengthen their position at the top with the kop empty coupled with the recent abysmal form of the reds, anything is possible.

The road to redemption has been long and bumpy with thorns along the way, but the Norwegian tacticians persistence and that of his team is about to blossom. Will United finally silent the critic’s? We’ll find out come night fall.
