Gov Yahaya Bello Celebrates New Acting Kogi CJ… Charges him on Justice and Fairness

Kogi State Governor, His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Bello has praised the Judiciary for being pivotal in the administration of Justice in the State.

Governor Bello made this known at the Swearing-in Ceremony of Hon. Justice Sunday Omeiza Otu as Acting Chief Justice of the Kogi State High Court which held at the Banquet Hall of the Governor’s Office, Lokoja, the State Capital.

Ably represented by his supportive Deputy, Chief Edward Onoja; Governor Bello in a remark, described Justice Omeiza as a man with reputable character and working knowledge of the dynamics of the Law, urging him to demonstrate his wealth of experience from the Bar and Bench in his new office.

“It is my pleasure to congratulate Hon. Justice Sunday Omeiza Otu as Chief Justice our dear state. Indeed, yesterday’s Valedictory Session Presided by immediate-past Chief Justice Hon. Henry Olusiyi left a vacancy and marks the bedrock of this noble event we are witnessing today,” he said.

Governor Bello also described Justice Omeiza as the new Chief Custodian of the administration of justice, law and order noted that “while we reiterate our huge expectations of him, we will continue to pursue all customary and statutory formalities obtainable for a substantive office.”

Governor Bello assured his relentless support in his passion to sustain the trust of the Kogi people on the 3 basic Arms of Government.

In his remark, Justice Omeiza thanked the Governor for the trust and confidence reposed in him to lead the high judicial office, promising to foster the administration of Justice, fairness, law, and order enjoyed in the State.

Present at the Ceremony was the Secretary to the Kogi State Government, Dr. Ayoade Folashade Arike, immediate past Chief Justice Hon. Justice Henry Olusiyi, legal luminaries, traditional heads, Commissioners, and government officials, among others.

Hon. Omeiza Sunday Otu was born in Okene LGA on the 25th of March 1956 and would later study Law at the prestigious Ahmadu Bello University between 1976 to 1979.
